Are Essential Oils a Cure for Monster Bacteria like MRSA?

by David Stewart, PhD

MRSA (pronounced "murr - sa") is an acronym for "Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus." While Staphylococcus aureus is a common and relatively harmless inhabitant in the nasal passages of 25-30% of people, the MRSA form of staphylococcus is not so benign and once entrenched it does not go away. MRSA is a monster bacteria created by the medical use of man-made antibiotics and antibacterial agents employed principally in hospitals. It was first detected in the 1960s, only a few years after a new semi-synthetic form of penicillin (Methicillin) was introduced.
Hospitals are where this germ originated and is still where it is principally found. However, since 1982 MRSA has been found outside of hospitals, first detected among drug users in Detroit. Since then it has worked its way into other parts of the community, including playgrounds and gymnasiums. Thus, we not only have HA-MRSA or "Hospital Acquired MRSA" but also CA-MRSA or "Community Acquired MRSA."
The portion of staphylococcal infections in the U.S. due to MRSA has risen steadily at an ever-increasing rate from 2% in 1974 to 63% in 2004. Once MRSA has been acquired, it is usually remains with the infected individual for life and can be fatal. Medical science has no effective treatment for MRSA infections.

WHY OILS HEAL AND DRUGS DON’T

by David Stewart, Ph.D.

If you tell a medical doctor that essential oils can bring about
healing with no negative side effects, they won't believe you.
This is because in medical school students are repeatedly told
by their professors that all effective medicines have negative
side effects, and if they don't, then they can't be effective.
When I was in medical school one professor emphasized this
point in a colorful, graphic manner with specially prepared slides.
In each slide specific drugs were depicted as evil looking demons
or goblins. As he presented each picture, he explained, "Although
ugly and capable of doing harm, these 'demons' are also the
bearers of some good. So long as the benefits outweigh the risks,
we use them," he summarized. "We have no choice," he continued,
"because if a drug has no dangers, then it can have no benefits.
That's just the way it is. And that's why it is essential that only
qualified physicians be allowed to prescribe medicines,"
he concluded.
Actually, the professor was telling the truth. Within the
restricted practice of allopathy (MDs) the only real medicines
are physician prescribed pharmaceuticals. Such medicines always
do have negative side effects. All of them. No exceptions.
Hence, doctors are trained to accept the bad with the good as
the price of effective medicine.
The Danger is in the Drug, Itself
The dangers of prescription drugs are intrinsic to the drugs,
themselves. No matter how careful the physician in prescribing
and how compliant the patient in following doctor's orders,
even then deaths and damages occur. In fact, according to
the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, more than 100,000
Americans die every year, not from illegal drugs, not from drug
overdoses, not from over-the-counter drugs, and not from drug
abuses, but from properly prescribed, properly taken prescriptions.
In this country, more people die from doctor's prescriptions every

Hope for the Best, but Prepare for the Worst

The way things are going, it looks like having a good emergency kit is a must. And essential oils make a great addition to any emergency kit.

'Be Prepared' is Sage Advice

by Jihan Thomas

Learning how to be prepared was one of the best skills I was ever taught.

Hurricane Sandy has come upon the East Coast of the US. Many have said that this storm is of historic proportions. Wild weather patterns seem to have become commonplace around the world in the last few years and here, around NYC, is no exception.

Being so close to the Atlantic Ocean, our home lies in a potential flooding evacuation area. During extreme weather, we are always on alert to know if we have to leave and where to go. The challenge with a place like this is that we live on an island. Fleeing Long Island is not always an option. There isn't always a safe place to go or a way to get there, especially if you can't get over the bridges.

I was in the Girl Scouts as a kid and my Girl Scout leader took preparedness very seriously. She would talk about canned foods, finding water, making fires, having extra clothes and blankets, etc. She believed that whether we were at home, in the car, at school or at work we should have certain survival skills that would at least allow you enough time to figure out what to do next.

I thought she was looney. Honestly, I did. Why do we even need to talk about this stuff?

As a 10 year old, you can't possibly imagine what can happen. Certainly nothing my parents couldn't fix... after all, they know everything, right? Why be so hysterical??

Turning a Stroke into One of Good Luck

by David Stewart

On Sunday, May 27, 2012, which was Memorial Day, I had a dizzy spell and almost fell over head first while visiting graves of relatives in the cemetery with my wife, Lee. I drove home, relaxed in an easy chair, and fell asleep for the afternoon. Several hours later I awoke and tried to get up and walk. I did not realize that my right leg and arm were paralyzed. While attempting to stand up, I fell over and cracked a rib. It was not until after then that I came to realize that I had suffered a stroke. By then, it was getting late in the evening.

The next morning my wife, Lee, and son, Anthony, took me to the nearest hospital, which is in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, 32 miles away. I didn't come home until two weeks later, June 12th. I used a wheelchair while in the hospital, but left using a walker. Since Friday, July 20, I have graduated to a cane and can get around the house and most places without any artificial support, although I sometimes stagger and reel like Frankinstein.

I also lost the full use of my right hand, which is serious for me since I play the piano and organ. I have gradually worked my way back to the second grade level of piano and the last two Sundays (July 15 and 22) I was able to once again play the organ for the service in my church while Lee played the piano with me.

I am still a long way from complete recovery and won't be playing a Beethoven Sonata or the Maple Leaf Rag for a while, as I used to do. Nor will I be entering any marathons or doing any mountain climbing as yet. but I do expect a total recovery to where I was and even better.

A Daniel Generation

A Daniel Generation

by Sharnael Wolverton*

The Lord has been speaking to me about raising up a Daniel generation. Of course, most of us know the story of Daniel and his life as told in the Old Testament, but what was God really showing me today?

I wasn't sure what that was EXACTLY, so I started really studying Daniel and his personal journey. The thing that stood out to me the most was Daniel refused to SUBMIT TO THE CULTURE OF THAT DAY!

We, today are fighting the culture of this world ourselves, in modern times. There are many cultures spoken about that we must "hold the line" for our Christian standards: media, fashion, politics, education, purity... to name a few... but after thinking about it more I rarely see a move of fighting culture in the area of FOOD and MEDICINE, specifically PHARMAKIA.

PHARMAKIA AND SORCERY
The Greek word "pharmakia" literally means "drugs", and appears five times in the New Testament: in Gal 5:20, Rev 9:21, 18:23, 21:8, and 22:15. "Pharmakia" is translated into our English Bible as either "witchcraft" or "sorceries". We also get our English word "pharmacy" from the Greek word "pharmakia.
Daniel refused to eat like the people of Babylon in the King's courts. (Daniel 1:8) Most exiled peoples would adopt foreign customs, believing they were in a new land, and therefore a new god. As a matter of fact Daniel refused the King's Food. We live in a culture of processed and fast food. We live in a place were we live to eat instead of eating to live.

Do You Know Anyone Who Has Trouble Sleeping?

This article was published in my e-mail newsletter. If you would like to subscribe, you can do so at: www.paulchancellor.com/newsletter

It seems that nowadays we're more tired than ever before. It’s estimated that 65 percent of American adults get less than the recommended eight hours of sleep each night, and sleep deprivation has been linked to depression, weight gain, heart disease, and irritability. The number one complaint in the workplace is being tired. How often do you find yourself or someone else yawning? Around 14 billion dollars a year are spent on drugs to try to help us sleep. We've all seen ads for prescription sleeping pills or energy drinks.

I recently got my hands on a free sample of an energy drink and checked the nutrition facts. It has over 8,000% of the daily value of vitamin B12 and 2,000% of vitamin B6. Considering that a bottle only costs a few dollars at any convenience store, it made me wonder if maybe the vitamins were low quality or even synthetic.

Getting a good nights sleep is vital to having enough energy, creativity, and youthfulness. Not getting enough sleep can lead to: crankiness, weaken your immune system, faster aging, cause you to feel hungry even when you're not. Midnight snack anyone?

The founder of Young Living Gary Young gave a talk awhile back where he talked about how most people don't get to the deepest, and most important stage of sleep, REM(Rapid Eye Movement) on a nightly basis. This may be caused by a variety of thing such as: the foods we eat, our sleeping environment, lack of exercise, and the drugs we take. As you'll read later, many sleeping medications are not effective and may even be blocking REM sleep.

Essential Oils vs. Cancer

This article was published in my e-mail newsletter. If you would like to subscribe, you can do so at: www.paulchancellor.com/newsletter

Gary Young and Young Living have been using Essential Oils in the fight against cancer for over twenty years. Gary has run several clinics where he uses the oils. He also works with various universities and researchers who are studying essentail oils effects on cancer and other conditions.

We have a Reference Guide for Essential Oils where we can look up various conditions and see what Essential Oils have been known to help with them. It suggests some of the following oils for cancer: Frankincense, Lavender, Orange, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Myrrh, and many more.

The Reference Guide had 4 pages devoted to cancer in various forms. Here is a quote from the cancer section: "When the cell wall thickens, oxygen cannot get in. The life expectancy of a cell is 120 days (4 months). Cells also divide, making duplicate cells. If the cell is diseased, new diseased cells will be made. When we stop the mutation of the diseased cells (create healthy cells), we stop the disease. Essential Oils have the ability to penetrate and carry nutrients through the cell wall to the nucleus and improve the health of the cell."

These are some testimonies from oil-testimonials.com. They have over 6,000 testimonies for essential oils and other Young Living products.

Skin cancer eliminated with Frankincense

Author: Darla Fielder
Location: TX, United States

I would like to share my husband's testimony regarding frankincense. He developed a sore on the back of his neck which quickly became a lump. He agreed to let a physician look at it, and was told that he needed to see a dermatologist because he suspected that it was skin cancer. He said that they would set up his appointment for him.

Knee Cartilage Testimonials

Knee Cartilage Injury

Single Oils: Peppermint, White Fir, Douglas Fir and Wintergreen. Lavender with Lemongrass, Marjoram or Ginger.
Recipe 1 - 9 drops Lemongrass, 10 drops Marjoram and 12 drops Ginger. Mix in 2 ounces V-6 Mixing Oil or Massage Oil Base. Massage 3 times daily. For swelling, elevate and apply ice packs.
Ligaments - Lemongrass, Lavender, Ortho Ease, Essential Manna and Sulfurzyme.

For knee pain I use Oregano and Peppermint. Mix approximately 3 drops of Oregano and 2 drops of Peppermint in ½ teaspoon of V6 or virgin olive oil, rub front, sides and back of knees. Another mixture is PanAway with Peppermint or Lemongrass. If you do not have the oils above, I sometimes just use Wintergreen. Hope this helps you.

2 years ago I was scheduled to have orthoscopic surgery for torn cartilage in my knee. Two weeks before the surgery a friend suggested I take MSM, which I did. I think I took about 8 - 10 capsules a day. The day before the surgery, I cancelled it because I felt much improvement and wanted to see how much the MSM could do without the surgery. Now, two years later I have absolutely no pain in my knee except when I do a few yoga poses. So you might want to consider MSM (I also took Glucosamine Chondroiton with the MSM), which will also greatly help after the surgery as well. I am relatively new to YLEO so I'm not as familiar with which oils or supplements would be most appropriate for your son.
